All Natural and Extreme Glacier Surfing

March 29th, 2008 by Adam

The first day of Spring has already passed in the Northern Hemisphere and now it is getting closer and closer to summer. The Winter time swells have tapered off for most people, but some people in this world love the rush of big wave surfing and are always checking the buoy reports for that next huge ground swell. Well, imagine living in Southern Alaska and the only swell on your radar is the swell from a massive glacier tsunami. That is exactly what big wave chargers Garrett McNamara and his buddy, Kealii Mamala, rode when they were bored with Jaws and Teahupoo.

Warning: The language in the first few audio lines may offend some people. The onlooker did not realize what these two daredevils were doing.

Jack Johnson – Sleep Through The Static

Jack Johnson – Sleep Through The Static

Jack Johnson has done it again. The surfer/ song-writer released his 5th album on February 1, 2008.  This album definitely belongs on your iPod or Zune playlists or pick a new song for your Myspace or Facebook song.  This album is a must have in your Jack collection.  The former pro-surfer has created another album with tracks that could make up an entire greatest hits CD.  His mellow-go with-the-flow melodies and positive vibes keep this album a top seller.  His peaceful voice allows you to really listen to his music and always puts you in a good mood.  You will listen to this album over and over without it ever getting dull.

All of the songs were written by Jack Johnson and this was the first album produced outside of Hawaii.  Jack Hody Johnson was born on Oahu, Hawaii and started receiving music fame on his debut album Brushfire Fairytales.  Jack has always been a “respect the planet” kind of guy and this is evident on this album.  The Jack Johnson website states that the Sleep Through The Static album was recorded using 100% solar energy.  No wonder his songs have so much power.

When you have some time, view video and audio clips of Sleep Through The Static on YouTube, but you will not get the whole essence of the album unless you purchase the entire thing. Listen to Jack on YouTube. You can also check out Jack Johnson’s free Myspace page and hear some of his new tracks. Listen to Jack on Myspace when you use the Search tab, Display Name function.

Some of my favorite tracks include Hope, Angel, If I Had Eyes, What You Thought You Need, and Monsoon.

Ted Shred’s Original Surf Wax Candle

March 19th, 2008 by Adam

 Ted Shred’s

Imagine making your home or office smell like a tropical surf destination. Instead of traveling to a far off dream island, the only thing you need to do is roll over in your bed and light your Ted Shred’s coconut surf wax scented pillar candle. You want to relive that epic surf session last weekend and capture the scent of your favorite surf wax, but you can not get away from your mundane office cubicle. This is why you have to get one of these candles or get one for your friends, girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, or husband.  They will definitely be impressed and the scent will make them think they are lying on a white sand beach.

Ted Shred’s offers many different sized candles and scents.  Ted Shred’s even offers a surf wax scented air freshener.  Now you can transform your car or truck into that tropical island paradise you have always dreamed about.

My favorite candle is the 32 ounce jar that comes in Wahini pink, Beach Break Blue, and Blanco.  Find out what else Ted Shred’s has to offer.

O’Neill 2MM GBS Gooru

March 18th, 2008 by Adam

gooru.jpg  gooru

GBS Gooru 2MM short sleeved and long sleeved

Spring is right around the corner and that probably means you are looking for some new neoprene.  If you are fortunate to live in a climate where the ocean water does warm up enough to ditch your full suit and booties, then here is your chance for the top of the line, super stretchy O’Neill GBS Gooru suit.  O’Neill has been successfully making wetsuits for decades and their GBS (glue and blind-stitched) technology provides more warmth and flexibility than the traditional flatloc stitching technology.  Blind-stitching uses a different needle to sew the wetsuit together and does not punch a hole through the neoprene.  This change in stitching prevents water-leakage through the holes on the seams.  Blind-stitching technology gives the surfer a little more comfort because the wetsuit is closer to the skin.  This is the only GBS Spring suit that O’Neill offers, so take your pick with the GBS Gooru short sleeved or long sleeved version.

If you want a quality suit with added value, then take a look at some of the GBS Gooru technical features:  Z.E.N. Zip Entry System P2, external key pocket, Super Seal Neck, seamless paddle zones, O’Neill Firewall in the chest panel, Ultra Violet protection,  Ultraflex super-stretch neoprene, 2MM neoprene over entire suit, and wind resistant Glideskin front and back.

My favorite feature is the external key pocket.  The pocket is securely located on the lower leg inseam and is easier to access.  The new key holder placement is far better than the old pocket along the back zipper and more user friendly.

The Surfsling

March 17th, 2008 by Adam

surfrsling.jpg

Surfsling

What exactly is a Surfsling?

Is it a beach towel/ changing device? Is it a sling? Is it a “backpack?” Or is it a surfboard carrier? Well, if you guessed all 4 then you are correct. This multi-use surf product acts as a surfboard carrier, a towel, and a backpack. The Surfsling can be transformed into all of these on your next surf destination.

Ok, who already has one of these? I know I could sure use one on my next surf trip or on my next bike ride to the beach. The practical concept totally makes sense. How often do you go on surf trips and wish you had more than two hands? Or how do I get rid of those awkward beach cruiser bike racks on the side of my bike? The Surfsling solves these issues and provides surfers with a durable 50″ X 29″ terry/ velour towell, a comfortable shoulder strap, and a unique hands free surfboard carrier. There is an easy access storage pouch on the outside of the Surfsling where you can store your camera, sunblock, or water. The Surfsling also comes in multiple sizes for your favorite board sport. Find a Surfsling for your boogie board, longboard, skim board, or wake board. Check out your Surfsling today.
