The Scandinavian peninsula is also the largest peninsula in Europe. Norway Map. The Vikings, the Fjords, and “The Midnight Sun” are probably what everybody thinks about when they hear Norway or that a person is Norwegian. If that is not the first thing that comes to mind, then there is another fascinating Norway attraction. It is the perfect chance to surf in the Arctic Circle. Yes, that seems a little extreme and too darn cold, but surfers from around the world are travelling to the Kingdom of Norway for a taste of frosty waves. They are braving the polar bears and the glacier chilled waters in search of that perfect Arctic Circle tube ride. The main Norwegian surf spots are located around the southern city of Stavanger and there are a few more located inside the Arctic Circle. The North Atlantic Current allows summer water temperatures to “warm” up to a comfortable 57 degrees F (14 degrees C). Watch out for avalanches and frostbite on your next Norwegian surf trip.
