Cal Poly Football Beats SDSU, Again!!
September 2nd, 2008 by Adam
Last Saturday night the NCAA Division-I AA Cal Poly Mustang football team downed the SDSU Aztecs. The Cal Poly Mustangs secured another win this year by beating the Mountain West Conference Division-I SDSU Aztecs. The final score was 29-27. The score was closer than the box score indicates. The Cal Poly junior placekicker, Andrew Gardner, kicked the game winning 21-yard field goal with 00:00 left on the game clock. Turnovers (SDSU=5 to Cal Poly’s 1) could have contributed to SDSU’s demise or it could have been that the better team won!!
Why do I care about this game or the teams? Why is this surf blog writing about a football game? Because I am a Cal Poly Alumni!!! Class of 2002!!! I also live in San Diego and when I attended Cal Poly, the football team was a joke. I think I went to 1 football game in 5 years. Yes, one football game and 5 years of college. Actually, it was only 4 years and 2 quarters, but only 1 football game. Now the team is decent and proved that they can take on the big time football programs. Go Mustangs!!!
