August 13-14, 2010, 22 legendary surfers will express their art at the 2010 ASR Marketplace. An auction on August 14th starting at 6PM will feature Munoz’s board along with 21 others from the top shapers in Orange County to benefit the SIMA Humanitarian Fund.

The 2nd stop on the 2010 ASP World Surfing Tour is the Bells Beach, Victoria-Australia Rip Curl Pro. The men’s Rip Curl Pro runs from March 30-April 10, 2010. The women’s Rip Curl Pro runs from March 30-April 5, 2010. Taj Burrow won the 1st 2010 tour stop at the Quiksilver Pro and he will look to gain more points on the 2009 ASP World Tour champion, Mick Fanning.

The devastating 8.8 earthquake off the coast of Chile has caused widespread Tsunami warnings all over the Pacific Ocean along with many casualties.Watch out for high surf and tidal flows.

Save the Waves non-profit organization is working with coastal areas affected by the tsunami and the earthquake. Your donation will go directly to the areas hit hardest by the earthquake and tsunami. The Mavericks big wave surf contest is on for this Saturday. There will be 24 big wave surfers all competing for a $150,000 prize purse. If you can’t make it to the live contest you can watch it on the big screen at AT&T Park.
If you are not on Oahu’s North Shore or Maui, then you should jump on the next flight to Honolulu or Kahului! Make sure you are ready to sit in traffic once you get there. Traffic jams have backed up the local highways for miles. This is all due to the largest waves in a decade and the Quicksilver Eddie Aikau surfing contest taking place at famous Waimea Bay.
Mick Fanning moves into 2nd place behind Joel Parkinson. Mick, the 2007 ASP world tour champion, is only 146 points behind the 2009 ASP points leader. These two fellow Aussies will meet up in the Billabong Pro Mundaka that takes place October 5-17, 2009. This is the 8th stop on the ASP world tour and there are only 2 more events after the Mundaka Pro. The race is on for the world crown!
On Saturday, September 19, Surf City USA celebrates Huntington Beach’s Centennial with a tribute to the city’s surf heritage and coastal environment with the much-anticipated “Surfboards in the Sand.” Thousands of surfers and lovers of surf culture will gather with their surfboards on Huntington City Beach adjacent to the famed HB Pier to be a part of the world’s largest surf photo commemorating 50 years of professional surfing at the Huntington Beach Pier.
Anyone with a surfboard (long boards or short boards acceptable – no boogie or skim boards, please); individuals, groups, families, surf clubs. So bring, beg or borrow a board to be part of this history-making photo event.
WCT Event #6 stops by Lower Trestles and kicks off September 13 – 19, 2009. The 2009 Hurley Pro will see some top surfers, including Joel Parkinson looking for his first ASP world surfing title. The waves are predicted to be in the 3-4 foot range.
Come out in person or watch the worlds best surfers online compete for the grand prize of $100,000. There are 3 different swells expected to produce some fun waves. Hurricane Linda, in the Eastern Pacific, has weakened, but the swell predictors say there is a chance of some residual swell.
The surf is up off the coast of Cabo San Lucas. The waves are expected to hit 15 to 20 feet today. Hurricane Jimena may also dump up to 2 feet of rain on the popular tourist destination.
