Surfer, Dude

September 8th, 2008 by Adam

“Surfer, Dude” is Matthew McConaughey’s new movie based on a longboarding soul-surfer, Steve Addington, who returns to Malibu for the summer and runs into a difficult life decision.  Steve Addington (Matthew McConaughey) feels pressure from his new sponsorships and they demand he makes some life changes.  Addington does not want to give into the pressure and must pick between the waves or his career.

Although the film was produced on a $6 million budget (low for Hollywood standards), the movie is packed with some big time talent.  Look for Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Willie Nelson, and Alexie Gilmore.

The movie opens September 12, 2008.

Genre:  Comedy

Plot:  A wave twisting tale of a soul searching surfer experiencing an existential crisis.
